Welcome to Felixstowe Road Medical Practice
Welcome to our practice website. We aim to provide all of our patients with a comprehensive range of healthcare services covering one-off problems to longer term illnesses. Feel free to explore the site and find out how you and your family can benefit from our personal and professional approach to healthcare provision.
Please note that it is our policy to require patients to wear face coverings whilst in our building.
Face to Face Appointments
You may have seen on the news that from Monday 17th May, doors at GP practices are 're-opening'. As you will know, our GP practice has been open throughout the pandemic, offering patients telephone and online appointments, with face to face consultations available for those who need them. This was in line with national requirements to keep patients safe, whilst COVID infection rates were high and before the vaccination was widespread.
GP practices are now being encouraged to offer patients a choice of whether they would like remote or face to face consultation. However, before we have more people coming into the surgery to see us in person, we need a bit of time to put in place measures to keep everyone safe. As we wait for further national guidance on doing that, we ask that patients continue to contact us by phone or online as you have been doing. We are facing unprecedented demands for our services and will need to continue to adjust how we use our clinicians' time to best support our patients - particularly those who need us the most.
We will keep you updated as soon as we are clear about how we can re-open our reception areas safely.
Thank you for your support.
Limited supplies of the Covid-19 vaccine have started to arrive in Suffolk.
At present, those surgeries that have received vaccines are only able to immunise patients aged 80 or over.
There is not yet enough vaccine for everyone in this age bracket to receive it, so "at risk" patients are being prioritised.
Please DO NOT call the surgery to ask when you will be able to receive you vaccination.
Rest assured that we will contact you when we are able to vaccinate you.
Please see the attached document from Suffolk GP FED regarding the Covid-19 vaccination programme
Suffolk GP FED Covid-19 Vaccination Programme
Your GP surgery is unable to offer you a certification of Covid vaccination, a vaccination passport or a letter to prove you have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
You can, however, find details of all your vaccinations on the NHS App: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/nhs-app/
Proof of vaccination documents have not yet been developed, and, as such, cannot be provided by your GP.
As soon as we have further information we will share it with you.
The NHS in Suffolk and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
